We have developed a new trip to Spain and are excited about the variety of experiences we will be able to enjoy within 60 minutes of the Villa, which is located at the base of the Pyrenees mountains. Below you will find the itinerary of the Spanish Catalonia tour and the daily four-course menus.

Itinerary

DAY 1 – FRIDAY

  • Meet at BCN airport at 10:00 am
  • Tour Boqueria Market and Old Town Barcelona
  • Quick Lunch on your own
  • Tour Gaudi Townhouse – Casa Batllo
  • Arrive mid-afternoon at Villa
  • Welcome Cocktail and Villa Tour
  • Settle In
  • Buffet Dinner – Large Tapas Display
  • After Dinner Drinks and Itinerary Briefing

DAY 2 – SATURDAY

  • Breakfast at the Villa
  • Visit historic town of Vic on “Market Day”
  • Learn how to make the famous regional sausage Fuet, followed by tasting.
  • Lunch and time on your own in Vic
  • Tour the historical city and Cathedral with Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassic styles.
  • Cooking Class at the Villa with chef Michael. Assist Michael in preparing the four-course dinner menu of the evening.

DAY 3 – SUNDAY

  • Breakfast at the Villa
  • Funicular ride up the mountain to Montserrat Monastery and Museum
  • Lunch on your own at Montserrat
  • Afternoon in Moià with regional wine & cheese tasting
  • Cooking Class at the Villa with chef Michael. Assist Michael in preparing the four-course dinner menu of the evening.

DAY 4 – MONDAY

  • Breakfast at the Villa
  • We’re off to the La Garrotxa National Park and Santa Margarida Volcano.
  • Lunch on your own at the medivial village of Santa Pau.
  • Guided farm tour with “farm style” yoghurt & jam production demonstration and tasting.  The success of this unique farm is a success story throughout Spain and has been studied by Harvard Business Review.
  • Cooking Class at the Villa with chef Michael. Assist Michael in preparing the four-course dinner menu of the evening.

DAY 5 – TUESDAY

  • Breakfast at the Villa
  • Excursion to Barcelona to tour the “Sagrada Familia”, Gaudi’s amazing Basillica
  • Lunch and free time to shop in Barcelona
  • Tour & Tasting Montbru cheese production.
  • Cooking Class at the Villa with chef Michael. Assist Michael in preparing the four-course dinner menu of the evening.

DAY 6 – WEDNESDAY

  • Breakfast at the Villa
  • Excursion to Mon Sant Benet – A day in the life of Ramon Casas
  • Visit “Alicia” and experience “The Sense of the Senses”. Tour the Kitchen Garden
  • Lunch on your own in Marganell
  • Tour and tasting: Award Winning – Bodega Heretat Oller del Mas
  • Cooking Class at the Villa with chef Michael. Assist Michael in preparing the four-course dinner menu of the evening.

DAY 7 – THURSDAY

  • Breakfast at the Villa
  • Chocolate demonstration & tasting at “Chocolates Simón Coll Chocolatier”
  • Lunch on your own in the village of Sant Sadurni
  • Visit Bodega Frexinet Cellars – National Historic Monument and exceptional Cava producers since 1659. Tour the caves, the factory and finish with a tasting of Cava.
  • Cooking Class at the Villa with chef Michael. Assist Michael in preparing the four-course dinner menu of the evening.

DAY 8 – FRIDAY

  • Breakfast
  • Depart Villa at 9:00 a.m. to Barcelona Airport.

Day 1 – Friday

  • Welcome Buffet Dinner – Large Tapas assortment including: local Cheese Board, Sliced Cured Meats, Canapés, Olives, Marinated Vegetables, various Spanish Tortillas, Bandarillas, Patas Bravas, Boquerones en Vinagre, Stuffed Mussels, Breads, Salads, Desserts

Day 2 – Saturday

  • Spanish Meatballs in Almond Sauce

Day 4 – Monday

Day 5 – Tuesday

Day 6 – Wednesday

  • Sherried Mushrooms with Manchego Cheese and Jambon
  • Escudella Soup – Meat Broth with Parsley-Meatballs, Sausage and Vegetables
  • Fried Fish “Samfaina” in Terra Cotta
  • Torta de Santiago – Almond Pie

Day 7 – Thursday

  • Jambon with Broad Beans and Salsa Brava
  • Endive Salad with Bulgur, Xató (Nut and Pepper Dressing), Anchovy, Tuna and Baccala
