Catalonia, Spain Tour

We are excited about the variety of experiences we are offering in Catalonia / Barcelona! Our Villa and your home for the week has a fabulous kitchen and is located at the base of the Pyrenees mountains. Our daily tours travel between the neighboring valleys to taste a variety of  Local Beers, Wines, Cheeses, Cava, Yoghurt, and the famous sausages from the area.  We also go into Barcelona to enjoy several of the Gaudi Architectural masterpieces. Itinerary

DAY 1 – FRIDAY

  • Meet at BCN airport at 10:00 am
  • Tour Boqueria Market and Old Town Barcelona
  • Quick Lunch on your own
  • Tour & Tasting, Artisinal Cheese Maker. Learn about production and sample varieties produced from: Sheep, Goat, Buffalo and Cows Milk.
  • Arrive mid-afternoon at Villa
  • Welcome Cocktail and Villa Tour
  • Settle In
  • Buffet Dinner – Large Tapas Display
  • After Dinner Drinks and Itinerary Briefing

DAY 2 – SATURDAY

  • Breakfast at the Villa
  • Visit historic town of Vic on “Market Day”
  • Optional Tour of the Vic Cathedral with Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassic styles.
  • Lunch own in Vic
  • Learn how to make the famous regional sausage Fuet, followed by tasting.
  • Cooking Class at the Villa with chef Michael. Assist Michael in preparing the four-course dinner menu of the evening.

DAY 3 – SUNDAY

  • Breakfast at the Villa
  • Funicular ride over the river and up the mountain to Montserrat. Enjoy the afternoon performance of the renown boys choir, tour the Monestery and Museum or spend some time hiking the scenic trails.
  • Lunch on your own at Montserrat
  • Cooking Class at the Villa with chef Michael. Assist Michael in preparing the four-course dinner menu of the evening.

DAY 4 – MONDAY

  • Breakfast at the Villa.
  • Excursion to Barcelona to tour the “Sagrada Familia”, Gaudi’s amazing Basillica
  • Lunch and free time to shop in Barcelona
  • Afternoon in Park Güell, walk the paths, enjoy the view and the fascinating Gaudi architecture

DAY 5 – TUESDAY

  • Breakfast at the Villa
  • Visit and tour of certified organic beef farm.
  • Lunch on your own in the village of Olost.
  • Micro-brewery Tour & Tasting.

DAY 6 – WEDNESDAY

  • Excursion to Mon Sant Benet – A day in the life of Ramon Casas – renown Catalonian Artist.
  • Visit “Alicia” and experience “The Sense of the Senses”. Tour the Kitchen Garden
  • Light Lunch on your own in Navarclues
  • Wine Tour and tasting: 13th Century Vineyard; Award Winning – Bodega Heretat Oller del Mas,
  • Cooking Class at the Villa with chef Michael. Assist Michael in preparing the four-course dinner menu of the evening.

DAY 7 – THURSDAY

  • Breakfast at the Villa
  • Chocolate demonstration & tasting at “Chocolates Simón Coll Chocolatier”
  • Lunch on your own in the village of Sant Sadurni (market day)
  • Visit Bodega Frexinet Cellars – National Historic Monument and exceptional Cava producers since 1659. Tour the caves, the factory and finish with a tasting of Cava.

  • Depart Villa at 8:00 a.m. to Barcelona Airport.

Day 1 – Friday

  • Welcome Buffet Dinner – Large Tapas assortment including: local Cheese Board, Sliced Cured Meats, Olives, Marinated Vegetables, various Spanish Tortillas, Patas Bravas, Boquerones en Vinagre, Stuffed Mussels, Breads, Salads, Desserts

Day 2 – Saturday

  • Spanish Meatballs in Almond Sauce
  • Escalivada – Catalan Grilled Vegetable Salad
  • Entree of the day (based on market selection)

Day 3 – Sunday

  • Beets in Romesco Sauce
  • Catalan Salad with Pickled Cucumbers, Seasonal Vegetables and a Sherry-Vinaigrette
  • Seared Cod Fillet with White Beans, Prawns and a Chorizo Broth
  • Buñuelos de Crema

Day 4 – Monday

  • Shrimp Skewers with Spicy Lemon Alioli
  • Spanish Gazpacho with a Paprika Sour Cream
