We are excited about the variety of experiences we are offering in Provence! Our Villa and your home for the week has a fabulous kitchen and is located in the heart of the Luberon National Park. Our daily tours travel between the picturesque hill towns and thru the Lubéron valley to taste a variety of Local Wine, Cheeses, products from the outdoor markets.  We’ll tour a 12th century monastery, explore Roman Ruins and enjoy the landscape and villages that inspired Van Goghs memorable paintings.

Day 1:  Meet at MRS airport / 10:30am  (or TGV station)- enjoy the day in Aix en Provence.  Arrive at the Villa late afternoon.

Day 2. We will start our tour with the picturesque villages of the Luberon Valley.  (Roussillon, Bonnieux, Lacoste).

Day 3. Isle sur la Sorgue -Sunday Market Day.  The town was built on the Islands of five branches of the Morgue River and often referred to as the Venice of Provence with it’s foot bridges and canals.  The Bustling Market offers something for everyone: Music, Artists, Colorful Pottery, Provencial Textiles and brightly colored stalls brimming with olives, wheels of cheese, fresh walnuts, chocolates and delicious short bread cookies.  It s also home to Provence’s most acclaimed wine, Chateaneuf du Pape.

Day 4. It’s a day devoted to wine!  We’ll start the day in Chateaneuf, explore the village and visit Chateau Nerthe – one of the oldest vineyards in the region (dating from 1560).  The chateau was built in 1736 and is planted with 13 types of grapes – all farming is done using organic techniques.  Next stop is the medieval village of Seguret for a lunch break and then on to Giondas to visit the farmers co-op and more wine tasting!

Day 5. It’s market day in Gordes we’ll explore the village and then we’re on to Avignon for a walking tour of the town (Architecture from the 12th to 19th century) and the Papal Palace.  You’ll have free time to explore or if you’re a tea fan – we recommend you treat yourself to afternoon tea at a very special location!

Day 6. Today we’ll learn a little about the artist -Van Gogh, Visit a Roman Site and explore the villages of Saint Remy (with a visit to the chocolate shop) – Saint Paul de Maussole – where Van Gogh spent one year of his life and painted Starry Night and a scenic drive thru the Alpilles with a stop at the quaint Alpilles village of Maussane.

Day 7.  We’ll start the day with a wine /cheese tasting and tour the village of Eygalieres, from there we will visit Les Baux where you’ll have free time for exploring, lunch /shopping and then on to Carriers de Lumieres Quarry which has been transformed into a gallery.  The 2016  presentation we will enjoy is: Marc Chagall’s Midsummer Night’s dream.

Day 8.  Depart Villa 8am – to Marseille MRS – book return flights after 11:30am – (bus will also stop in Aix En Provence TGV station)

Day 1 – Friday – Welcome Menu

  • Provençal Aioli display with Grilled Vegetables, Oysters, Muscles, Shrimp, Roasted Côte Veal Filet with Tapenade, variety of Local Cheese and honey, Fruit Display, Strawberry Charlotte & Chocolate Ganache Tuille

Day 2 – Saturday

  • Baked Figs with Fresh Goat Cheese and Lavender Honey
  • Wheat Berry Salad with Grilled Squid
  • Sea Bream Tapenade (Papillote Demonstration)
  • Cherry Clafoutis with Vanilla Ice Cream

Day 3 – Sunday

  • Baked White Beans with Herbed Tomatoes and Shrimp
  • Asparagus Salad with Soft Poached Egg and Olive Tapenade. Lemon Dressing
  • Sous Vide Chicken Breast with a Foie Gras-Fig Cream and Herbed New Potatoes
  • Seasonal Fruit with a Lavender Syrup and Lavender Shortbread

Day 4 – Monday

  • Pissaladière – Provençal flatbread with caramelized onions, anchovies and olives
  • Soupe au Pistou (Vegetable Soup with Tomato Pesto)
  • Sole Provençal with Oven Roasted Tomatoes and Herbes de Provence
  • Pistachio and Apricot Torte

Day 5 – Tuesday

  • Grilled Tuna Niçoise with Haricot Verts and Rosemary Roasted Potatoes
  • Smoked Tomato Soup with Fougasse (Olive Bread)
  • Homemade Garlic-Pork Sausage with Herbes de Provence over Ratatouille
  • Chocolate Molten Cake with Pistachio Ice Cream and a Cherry Coulis

Day 6 – Wednesday

  • Roasted Veal Loin Remoulade “Provençal”
  • Grilled Romaine with Sun-dried Tomatoes and a Caper Vinaigrette
  • Mediterranean Seafood Bouillabaisse with a Safforn Broth
  • Tarte au Citron with a Hazelnut Crust

Day 7 – Thursday

  • Olive Oil-Poached Salmon with Roasted Peppers
  • Garbanzo Bean Salad with Provençal Herbs and Olives
  • Slow Cooked-Beef Short Ribs (Sous Vide Demonstration)
    with Sun-dried Tomatoes, Fennel and Garlic
  • Iced Nougat with Macerated Dried Fruit
